Non-Dominant Handwriting Instructions

Dialoging is talking with your inner child and caring for them nonverbally through journaling. It’s an exchange between you.
In the morning, upon waking
-
Using your dominant hand, write, "How are you feeling?"
-
With your non-dominant hand, write down the feeling that comes to mind.
-
Ask them how old they are, then write it down with your non-dominant hand.
-
Using your dominant hand, acknowledge them by recalling a memory from that time. Example, "What can you tell me about that time?"
-
Freely write everything that comes to mind using your non-dominant hand.
-
Ask them what they need, allow them to answer using your non-dominant hand, and then do your best to meet that need. Click here for a Developmental Nourishment guide.

Maintaining Connection
During the day, when triggered, ask, “How old are you?” When they respond, co-regulate using warm, responsive, and supportive words and actions, like tapping or placing your hand on your chest or the base of your throat.
