Juicing

At the time of my cancer diagnosis, I unknowingly had leaky gut syndrome. This condition is often undiagnosed and, based on my research, may be a widespread but underrecognized issue. Leaky gut syndrome occurs when the small intestine is damaged, making the gut lining permeable and allowing bacteria and toxins to enter the bloodstream.

Signs you may have a leaky gut:
-
Chronic diarrhea, constipation, gas, or bloating
-
Nutritional deficiencies
-
Poor immune system
-
Headaches, brain fog, memory loss
-
Excessive fatigue
-
Skin rashes and problems such as acne, eczema, or rosacea
-
Sugar and carbohydrate cravings
-
Arthritis or joint pain
-
Depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD
-
Autoimmune diseases such as lupus, celiac, rheumatoid arthritis, or Crohn's
Leaky gut syndrome damages cells, making it difficult to produce the enzymes necessary for digestion. As a result, the body cannot absorb essential minerals, enzymes, and nutrients, which can lead to malabsorption, hormone imbalances, and a weakened immune system.
Juicing increases antioxidant levels and supplies essential minerals, enzymes, and vitamins. Because juice is quickly absorbed, it supports the body's natural healing processes. Begin slowly, as juicing can trigger detox symptoms similar to the flu. I recommend starting with no more than 4 ounces and gradually increasing. During my cancer recovery, I consumed 32 ounces daily.

What to Juice

Fresh greens are an excellent source of antioxidants. Their minerals, enzymes, and vitamins support the body's healing. Carrots, celery, ginger, turmeric, and beets also provide valuable nutrients.

Juicer

After trying several juicers, I found the Breville to be the most effective and easiest to clean. I appreciate the purity and smoothness of the juice it produces. Ultimately, the best juicer is the one you will use consistently. Click here for the juicer I use.

Don't Have Time?

I juiced daily for six months. Since my surgery, I have focused on maximizing daily nutrition, including using a gluten-free, organic green powder. Click here for the one I use.
